On August 14th, the initial shipment of specialised equestrian supplies for the Hangzhou Asian Games arrived at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. This shipment includes over two thousand items, such as horseshoes, horseshoe nails, and farrier tools, imported from the Netherlands and other locations. These accessories will be utilised for the daily maintenance of the participating horses in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
China's General Administration of Customs has tailored quarantine policies specifically for the participating horses, and Hangzhou Customs District also opened the "Competing Horse Quarantine Online" channel to conduct supervision of the whole quarantine process for all competing horses.
Upon entry through Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, the participating horses will undergo quarantine inspections at the customs port. Once cleared, they will be transported to the Tonglu Equestrian Centre via a designated biosecurity route. Throughout the competition, customs officials will be present to ensure the biosecurity of the horses. Following the Games, the customs will conduct health assessments of the participating horses and issue animal health certificates, which will serve as the necessary documentation for their departure.
