The electronic sports event of the third Yangtze River Delta Sports Festival wrapped up on the evening of July 30 in Wuxing district, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
The team "Wuhan YK" emerged as the victor, dominating the competition to claim the championship in the finals. Second, third, and fourth places were awarded to "Jiangsu KSSC", "Shanghai MST", and "Anhui Anqing", respectively.
According to the organizers, the event aimed to provide a competitive platform for electronic sports enthusiasts in the Yangtze River Delta region, which includes the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, as well as Shanghai municipality. It allowed them to fully embrace the digital entertainment lifestyle by combining high-tech methods with traditional sports. Moreover, the event showcased the diverse range of digital sports and welcomed the upcoming 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Electronic sports, one of the seven newly-added official competition events in the Hangzhou Asian Games, have been increasing in popularity.
A local official emphasized that Wuxing is actively fostering the development of the electronic sports industry, seeing it as a vital means to promote the district's rejuvenation.
