Roller skating becomes the youthful memory of the post-80s and post-90s generations in China. With the approaching of Hangzhou Asian Games, roller skating is well-known and favoured by more young people. Hangzhou adds several roller skating clubs to meet needs of numerous post-2000s consumers.
This popularity is part of owing to the fashionable and optimistic characteristics of the sport. Of course, relatively preferential price also incites consumption. However, the consumers born in the 2000s just want to have a try, and are not regular customers.
Chen Ying, the associate professor of the marketing department of Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, said, "In order to achieve the long-term development, roller skating requires the professional institutions and competitions to promote the development of the sport and related industries from a specialized perspective."
