A Chinese Culinary Competition was held at Hangzhou Cuisine Museum on June 27. The contestants made meals themed by the Asian Games to carry out the assessment. Hu Zhongying, the chief referee, said, "The catering workers of Hangzhou need to better their skills in order to display the most typical Hangzhou taste to tourists from all over the world during the Asian Games."
The participating dishes highlight the traditional cuisine of Hangzhou, full of the blessings for the Asian Games. For example, "Dingsheng Cake" is said to be the cake made by the ordinary people in the Southern Song Dynasty to send blessings to soldiers. Given that, "Asian Games Dingsheng Cake" sends the blessings inherited for thousands of years to Hangzhou Asian Games.
