On June 26, a group of foreigners waved their wooden clubs to hit a small ball, which looked not much different from a golf ball, on the lawn. They were playing Chuiwan, a popular golf-like ball-hitting game in China's Song Dynasty.

The instructor on site made some introductory remarks, "The game is called Chuiwan, which is a ball-hitting sport whose players use wooden clubs to drive balls into holes dug in the lawn. It is like modern golf." Collected in the Hangzhou Public Library, the painting "Hitting the Ball under Musa basjoo" (Jiaoyinjiqiutu in Chinese) depicts the scene of children using clubs to hit balls into holes in the Song Dynasty.

This activity is co-organised by the Hangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Hangzhou Public Library. They selected sports-related paintings and literature of the Song Dynasty and invited foreign enthusiasts to try these sports in an immersive manner, thus showcasing the charm of ancient Chinese sports culture and spreading the spirits of the modern Asian Games.
