From May 20 to 27, the "Exciting Hangzhou" 2023 National Youth Weightlifting Championship was held at Xiaoshan Sports Centre Gymnasium, with over 300 Chinese athletes competing in 11 weight classes for both men and women.

This is the first national weightlifting championship hosted by Xiaoshan Sports Centre Gymnasium as the venue for the weightlifting event of Hangzhou Asian Games. The athletes praised, "it lives up to its name as an Asian Games venue, with meticulous services and advanced facilities."

On the first competition day, Ni Baoli from Zhejiang won a silver medal in the women's 40kg class with a snatch of 55kg and a clean & jerk of 66kg, 121kg in total. Wei Liping from Guangxi Sports College took the gold medal with 122kg.
