The "Exciting Hangzhou" National Marathon Swimming Championship 2023 is held in Chun'an county, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, from May 12 to 14.

The competition is designed to serves as a trial for the open water swimming category of the World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka and the marathon swimming category of the 19th Asian Games. A total of 16 teams from all over the country, including 221 athletes and accompanying officials, will participate in the event, which will hand out eight gold medals.

The event will be held at the Jieshou Sports Center in Chun'an which will also serve as the venue for the cycling, triathlon, and marathon swimming competitions of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The swimming training ground is a mobile pump boat with an 8-lane swimming pool 50 meters long, 20 meters wide and 1.6 meters deep. Each lap of the course is about 1.66 km, with six laps equaling 10 km and three laps equaling 5 km.

To better serve the competition, the sports center was installed with a water training ground and life-saving equipment. A floating platform was also rebuilt and tested to meet the standards of the Asian Games. 

Participants can also enjoy the picturesque mountains and rivers surrounding the neighboring Qiandao Lake.
