The Fifth Asian U18 Athletics Championships 2023 recently came to a successful end in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Fang Yuting from Leqing City, Wenzhou, won the championship in women's javelin throw, becoming a rising track and field star in China.

As the only athlete from Wenzhou in the national team, she won the gold on her debut at the highest-level athletics event in Asia.

In addition, the Chinese team brought back 24 medals in the championships, with 15 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals, winning both the most gold medals and the overall medal count.
