On April 5, World Sailing President Li Quanhai and technical delegates of the Asian Games sailing sport came to Ningbo Xiangshan Sailing Centre to inspect the sailing competition venue and preparations for Hangzhou Asian Games. The inspection team was accompanied by heads of Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee, Ningbo Municipal Asian Games Office, Xiangshan County Asian Games Office and the operation team of Ningbo Xiangshan Sailing Centre.

The team led by Li Quanhai inspected the functions of the venue, surveyed the water area for the competition and confirmed the standard for the use of the starting beach of kiteboarding and the procurement (rental) of competition equipment for the venue.

They spoke highly of Ningbo Xiangshan Sailing Centre with the words of "perfect", "fantastic" and "paradise".

Li Quanhai said that the construction of the Sailing Centre meets international standards. He suggested that Xiangshan can take the opportunity of holding world sailing events to enrich the international features of sailing in Ningbo and leverage the functional effect of the venue to undertake higher-level marine sports events with local characteristics.

In fact, by taking sports events as a platform, Xiangshan (Ningbo) has carried out numerous water sports competitions and activities and actively developed sports-related cultural and tourism economy in recent years to boost the development of marine sports and the sports industry in Xiangshan.
