It is reported that Wenzhou Marathon will kick off in Wenzhou Century Square of Zhejiang on March 19 after three-year suspension. As one of the co-host cities of Hangzhou Asian Games, Wenzhou will hold this large-scale competition event in Wenzhou Sports Centre Stadium that becomes the venue for the football match of Hangzhou Asian Games. The event involves full marathon, half marathon and fun run, attracting 18,000 participants.

This marathon also features many highlights. The 5km fun run is set up for the first time. The governments, enterprises and institutions in Wenzhou, as well as colleges & universities, associations and counties, cities and districts, sign up in groups.
