Recently, Qi Yufan, an eight-year-old girl from Hangzhou of Zhejiang, performed 77 consecutive air flares of Breaking within one minute in CCTV Program Colourful Youth, and set a new world record.
The air flare is a highly difficult movement in Breaking, which is very difficult owing to high requirements for skills, core strength and endurance. It is difficult for adults to complete more than 20 air flares, let alone kids. It seems that Qi Yufan’s dancing skills are superb.
In fact, it is not the first record she hit. When she was nearly seven years old, she made 121 air flares at a time to set the Guinness World Record in air flares (female).
As Breaking becomes the official event of the Asian Games, street dance performers surge, and then the competition becomes fiercer. With such record held, Qi Yufan promise, “I will continue to carry out the training for a better stage.”
