On the evening of September 24, with the theme of "taking the Asian Games as an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of posters", the "Asian Games Aesthetic Culture" Interview (Episode 5) was held in Hangzhou Public Library in order to better make citizens understand the stories behind the official posters of Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games. Bi Xuefeng as the secretary general of Hangzhou Asian Games Research Center for Art Design, Li Jie as the designer of "Feifei" as the mascot of the 4th Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2022, Hangzhou Asian Games Official Poster Meeting in Hangzhou and Asian Para Games Official Poster Congratulations, and Xu Zhenting as the designer of Hangzhou Asian Para Games Official Poster Common Brilliance, participated in the interview and shared the poster design concept.
Bi Xuefeng said: "The official poster can enrich the visual experience, able to reflect the image of the Asian Games from different perspectives and increase our understanding of the Asian Games or the city." The shortlisted posters have the artistic appeal, and incorporate the elements of the Asian Games, such as science & technology and intelligence, to promote the concept of the Asian Games and carry out the cultural exchange.
Speaking of Poster Meeting in Hangzhou, Li Jie stated: "The creation is inspired by Su Causeway of the West Lake with the charm of the water town in Jiangnan. In the works, the picture is combined with 'Hangzhou 2022' and competition events through the coloring method of ink, and there are ripples on the water surface of the West Lake, which implies that everyone gathers together, and symbolizes the joy and friendship brought by the Asian Games." Poster Congratulations uses Feifei (the mascot of Hangzhou Asian Para Games) as the main image, which strengthens the text in the poster, with the implied meaning that Feifei as a messenger conveys the message of the upcoming Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2022.
Xu Zhenting, the designer of Poster Common Brilliance, focuses on the various running postures of the athletes in the Asian Para Games. He transforms the arc elements in the emblem of Hangzhou Asian Para Games into a track, and uses the artistic technique of silhouette to outline the image of blind athletes and running guides who are running hand in hand. The interweaving of lines echoes the guiding rope, and the colour in the colour system of Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is adopted to create the rhythmic and active sports atmosphere. The inspiration of his involvement with the running guides is originated from the wish of a blind athlete who wants to see the running guide when having light. The designer would like to publicize the warmth and support through posters so that more people pay attention to the sports for the impaired.
