On September 3, the Eighth National Fitness Swimming Qualification Competition Hangzhou themed by "Advocating the National Fitness and Enjoying the Asian Games" was held successfully, and 600 swimmers struggled courageously in Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Aquatic Sports Arena.

There is a saying in the swimming industry that "China Swimming depends on Zhejiang, and Zhejiang Swimming relies on Hangzhou." The Golden Dolphin Swimming Qualification Competition as a national fitness activity for the society and the public has been launched for eight consecutive years and deeply favored by the swimmers of Hangzhou.

Bai Ziyue, the chairman of Hangzhou Swimming Association, said: "The qualification competition is an important way for swimmers to test their own proficiency and obtain the grade standards. Being able to be held in the "high-end" Olympic Sports Centre Aquatic Sports Arena reflects the opening of the Asian Games for the benefit of the people, which is also the new measure to promote the comprehensive utilization of the Asian Games Venues and ensure that citizens can enjoy the benefits of the Asian Games."

The "high level" of the competition is embodied in the standard timing system and venue lighting of the Asian Games. There are many national and international judges in the event, which improves the competition level and attracts Wu Peng as the world champion from Hangzhou who has retired for several years. Wu Peng stated: "This is the first time that I have participated in the official competition since I retired. I am very excited when standing on the starting podium. I have a feeling of going back to being an athlete."

Hangzhou has the relatively strong foundation for mass swimming; various swimming competitions and activities are carried out vigorously.
