Hubin Vehicle-Free Street is the core linkage of one of the six characteristics of the West Lake intangible heritage, “the space character that composed of three sides of Mountains and one sid e of city”. As it is the East Shore of the West Lake, looking at the West Lake from this side you can see the sparkling lake water and also in the hundred-meter distance from this street is the most bustling street in Hangzhou, the Yan’an Street. Tourists and citizens love to walk in the Hubin Street because here you can see the West Lake easily and also go to the shopping center conveniently.
Within the three years since the West Lake gained the title of the World Intangible Heritage, there are more and more foreigners with blond hair and blue eyes and the staffs in the West Lake Scenic Spot declare that the English Identification will soon be added in the Chinese scutcheons along the Hubin Street. |
