On August 17, the exhibition of the Palace Museum's Collection of Royal Jades kicked off in the Liangzhu Museum. 100 pieces of jade demonstrate the achievements of jade carving in the Qing Dynasty and features of jade used by the royal family. The exhibition will run until October 31. Of the over 30,000 pieces of jade in the Palace Museum, more than 19,000 are from the Qing Dynasty, and most of the 100 pieces selected for this exhibition are from the Qianlong period or the mid-Qing Dynasty. It displays all kinds of jade wares, such as imperial seal, pearl, Guanyin, ritual ware, pen holder, hairpin, cosmetic box, cup, and dish, etc., which represent the highest level of jade craft in the Qing Dynasty. Zhou Liming, the chief curator of the Liangzhu Museum, says that the quality of jade has been integrated into the spiritual world of Chinese. More than 5000 years ago, the characteristics of Liangzhu people's love for jade have been revealed. The culture of jade in China has become the identity of the national symbol of the Chinese people. It is of great significance to cooperate with the Palace Museum to hold such an exhibition. |
