Xie Shuangcheng, vice mayor of Hangzhou and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), suggested that a satisfying education system requires concerted efforts from government departments, society, schools and parents. He proposed that regulations should be made to clarify the duties of relevant government departments, schools and educational institutions and lead them to further support their autonomy in the running of schools. The country should also streamline its education administration system to improve its efficiency, and place an emphasis on the quality of teachers as a top priority, Xie said. |
