Jianggan district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is set to be the permanent base of the Secretariat of the International Standardized Sustainable City Club (ISSCC), with the launch ceremony being held in Hangzhou on Jan 14.

This indicates that the district where Qianjiang New Town CBD is located will not only be committed to promoting international coordination and exchanges among the 28 member cities of ISSCC in urban sustainable development, but also be the host of a series of international exchange activities on the standardization of sustainable cities.

After the settlement of the secretariat, Jianggan will serve as a beacon of light for local companies by providing them with the latest and most authoritative information on international standards, and attract more high-caliber professionals in international standardization.

The Technical Committee for the Sustainable Development of Cities, which operates under the International Standardization Organization (ISO), or ISO/TC268, is dedicated to developing frameworks and measuring performance on the sustainable development of cities.

Bernard Gindroz, chairman of ISO/TC268 said that as the world's first pilot city named by ISO for the international standards in sustainable development in 2016, Hangzhou excels in terms of city appeal, environmental protection, resource distribution, social cohesion and people's well-being.

In 2017, ISO and the National Standards Committee jointly launched the world's first standardization professional conference base in Hangzhou.

ISO is a non-governmental international organization that develops and publishes International Standards, and is the largest standards organization in the world. In addition to establishing standards in fields such as enterprise, military industry, and petroleum, it also has a set of "standard systems" to evaluate urban development.
