A Sino-German art exhibition featuring more than 50 abstract works of art kicked off in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Oct 28, offering visitors a feast of abstract art.

Aiming at promoting exchanges of abstract art between China and Western countries, the exhibition, which runs until Nov 24, has attracted a number of renowned Chinese and German artists, including Jörg Bürkle and A Paola Neumann.

"Richly infused with Chinese ink painting and Western abstract styles, the artworks of Jörg Bürkle reflect the blend of both cultures in abstract art", said Bao Weifeng, a Chinese abstract artist.

While absorbing the essence of western art, the exhibition also allows Chinese art to go global, according to Lou Haiyang, organizer of the event.
