Yesterday, six experts, including the former vice minister of the Ministry of Construction and the academician of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering Zhou Ganzhi, the professor of Department of Construction of Tinghua University and the academician of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering Wu Liangyong, and the expert in scenery and garden of the Ministry of Construction and the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Meng Zhaozhen, had officially invited by the Administration Commission of the West Lake Scenic Area as the expert consultant of the West Lake Scenic Area. In future, the all of the important schemes and measures on the protection, management and construction of the scenic area should be approved by these experts.

Zhou Ganzhi said, the comprehensive protection project of the West Lake is the return of the history, as well as the valuable historical experience, what is more important, the experience of the planning and deign should be summed up. Now, we have realized that those design schemes, which stresses too much on the modernization, adds a lot of artificial structures and blindly pursue the foreign characteristics are not applicable to the West Lake, and the current achievements and the scenery of the western area of the lake is a good learning material.
