On December 10, 2019, the "China-Romania Traditional Chinese Medicine Center" jointly built by Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Romania's Vassili Godish Western University was officially opened in Allard County Hospital, Romania. On February 2, 2020, Dr. Li Xiao from the Massage Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine arrived in Romania as the first stationed doctor and will carry out a three-month diagnosis and treatment in the center.

The Chinese Medicine Center was opened at exactly 10:00 a.m. every day. Although affected by the impact of epidemics, the center has taken measures to limit the number, and the daily reservation is still full. "In Romania, diseases such as cervical spondylosis and scapulohumeral periarthritis are mainly treated with painkillers and injections, with poor results, unfortunately. However, such diseases are preponderant for therapy in traditional Chinese medicine which can take effect very quickly, and the symptoms of patients can be improved obviously."

In recent days, with the outbreak of epidemics in numerous foreign countries, Romania has confirmed more than 100 cases of COVID-19, making the country under a state of emergency. After understanding the status quo, the International Office of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University contacted the manufacturers of TCM in China to produce a batch of TCM granules to donate to the native residents in Romania, increasing their disease resistance. Dr. Li Xiao instructed the locals to use the granules comprehensively. Besides, a part of medical supplies was transferred to Italy at the same time, making TCM play a unique role in epidemic prevention and control.
