Two Pupils from Hangzhou Have Gone to “the UN to Have a Meeting”
en.hangzhou.com.cn 2019/03/29 17:21 Hangzhou Daily

DONG Xinru and LI Yubin, from the primary school attached to Fairview Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary education institutions, have attended New York Summit in March for 2019 Montessori Model United Nations. The two representatives have their voices heard and have expressed a concern for the world, with nearly 2,500 peer ambassadors from over 100 countries or regions.

It’s said that Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) is the solo demonstration project for the youth by the UN. After rounds of selections from candidates (aged from 9 to 16), the global young finishers gather in the UN’s headquarters in New York (or Geneva), perform a model of the UN concerning its operation and rules of procedure, propose solutions to international hot issues, and  deliver speeches, debates and votes. The passed proposals will then be submitted to the Secretary General before being filed in the hub of the UN.
