The awards ceremony for the "Zhejiang Entrepreneur of Year 2020" event was held in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Jan 18.

The annual event, which is often referred to as the "Oscar Awards for Zhejiang's businesspeople", has been held for 18 consecutive years. Its organizers include the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as a number of Zhejiang-based mainstream media outlets.

Ten business leaders were awarded the title of "Zhejiang Entrepreneur of Year 2020". They were Yu Yingtao, president of H3C, Ma Jianrong, chairman of Shenzhou International, Li Tiantian, founder of Dingxiangyuan, Chen Errong, chairman of EST, Chen Baohua, founder of Huahai Pharmaceutical, Pang Huimin, chairman of Dali Technology, Xu Aihua, chairman of Zhejiang Hualian, Han Shuren, chairman of Xianfeng Fruit, Lu Jianguo, chairman of Zhende Medical, and Xiong Xiong, chairman of Mountain & Sea.

A special award for "Zhejiang Entrepreneur of Year 2020" went to Tong Yahui, former chairman of Zhejiang Energy Group.

Pang Huimin, chairman of Dali Technology, receives the award for his leadership in tripling the company's daily production volume of infrared imaging thermo-detectors right after the COVID-19 outbreak. Tong Yahui retired from his post as chairman of Zhejiang Energy Group in December 2020. Under Tong's leadership, Zhejiang Energy Group achieved an annual profit of 10 billion yuan in 2020 and has been a major contributor to Zhejiang's utilization of green energy. [Photo/WeChat account:zjfabu]
